Fusion Series #7 by Bardstown – A Bold Blend or Just Another Pour?

Bardstown Fusion 7

Pour Decisions Wednesday is back, y’all—and this week, we’re diving headfirst into a bottle from one of our favorite modern-day bourbon powerhouses: Bardstown Bourbon Company. In this episode, we take a deep sip of their Fusion Series #7, a bottle that blends youthful house-made bourbon with sourced 12-year Kentucky juice in a way that’s either brilliant… or begging for a “Bless Your Heart.”

We’ve reviewed Bardstown before (a lot, actually), and they’ve never let us down. Not once. Not even when we tried to overthink a tasting note so hard we started quoting T.S. Eliot. That’s why Fusion #7 has a lot to live up to—it’s the latest in a line of blends that consistently deliver balance, flavor, and Bardstown’s trademark transparency.

🧪 The Bourbon Breakdown

Let’s start with the specs. Fusion Series #7 is a blended straight bourbon whiskey, bottled at 98.1 proof, and retailed around $64.99 at launch.

The blend includes:

  • 54% Bardstown (3-year) | 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley

  • 10% Bardstown (3-year) | 60% corn, 40% rye

  • 6% Bardstown (3-year) | 60% corn, 26% rye, 10% wheat, 4% malted barley

  • 20% Kentucky Bourbon (12-year) | 78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley

  • 10% Kentucky Bourbon (12-year) | 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley

If your eyes glazed over at that mash bill math—don’t worry. B breaks it all down in the episode with the passion of a high school chemistry teacher who’s had three pours and no patience.

👃 Tasting Notes (According to Bardstown)

  • Nose: Vibrant nectarine, toasted almond, honey

  • Palate: Cedar, rich toffee, light tannins

  • Finish: Elegant balance of youth and age—basically bourbon diplomacy

Of course, we do our own live tasting in the episode—nose, sip, finish, and a few mid-sip meltdowns. Whether or not we agree with those official notes… well, you’ll have to watch for yourself.

🎙️ Pour Decisions Wednesday Vibes

This episode features classic Tortured Bourbon chaos:

  • B comparing the mash bill to a Taylor Swift lyric

  • Heather threatening devil horns over bad cinnamon whiskey

  • A rating scale that ranges from Piddlin to Cock of the Walk

No spoilers, but Fusion #7 puts up a strong fight. And no, Bardstown still hasn’t missed.
