What Is Jefferson’s Ocean Bourbon?
Jefferson’s Ocean begins life as fully matured Kentucky straight bourbon. Rather than bottling it immediately, selected barrels are loaded into shipping containers and placed aboard ocean-going cargo vessels.
During the voyage, the barrels experience:

Multiple climate zones
Thousands of miles at sea
The theory is that these changing conditions force the bourbon deeper into the oak, accelerating interaction with the barrel and creating flavors that wouldn’t develop in a stationary warehouse.

Every Jefferson’s Ocean release is identified by its voyage number because no two journeys are exactly alike.
Voyage 34 continued the brand’s long-running experiment with maritime aging, making each release slightly different depending on the route, weather conditions, and length of the trip.
