The Bourbon: Weller Antique 107

Weller Antique 107 is part of the famous wheated bourbon lineup from Buffalo Trace Distillery. Known for its smooth wheat-forward profile, Antique 107 is the bolder sibling to Weller Special Reserve. With an uncut proof of 107 and an age range of about 6–8 years, it’s often called the “poor man’s Pappy” — thanks to its shared mash bill with the Van Winkle line.

Finish: Long, warm, with sweet oak and lingering spice.

Weller Antique 107 brings a great balance of sweetness and punch. The wheat rounds out the edges, while the proof keeps it bold and exciting. It’s one of the rare bottles that works neat, with a splash of water, or in an Old Fashioned.

The Hype Factor

Why is it so hard to find? Buffalo Trace wheated bourbons have skyrocketed in demand over the last decade. With an MSRP around $50, Weller Antique 107 is priced fairly — but good luck finding it on the shelf. Secondary markets often push it above $200, making it one of the most hunted bottles in bourbon.

If you can find Weller Antique 107 at retail, buy it immediately. It’s one of the best values in bourbon when priced right, and a must-have for wheated bourbon fans. On secondary? Think carefully before dropping the cash.
